Best Friend Bareback Pads

1159895 I guess this week I am on a kick reviewing Best Friend Products – because in this post, I am going to tell you why I use a Best Friend Bareback Pad!

Those of you who know me know that I love riding bareback. I feel that it helps my balance, plus it’s just fun! Most of the time I ride truly bareback – without a pad – but occasionally I want a little extra grip, or I don’t feel like having horse sweat soaked into my jeans or breeches! On these days, I use a bareback pad, and the pad that I have found to be the best for occasional use is the Best Friend bareback pad. These pads are made with a comfortable suede top that really helps provide extra grip, and a neoprene bottom that helps the pad stay in place on the horse.

Honestly, there are better bareback pads available, but they cost several times that of the Best Friend pad, so if you are only using a bareback pad occasionally, you will be just fine with the less expensive option. The only issue with these pads is the cinch strap, as it is very narrow and certainly does not provide optimal comfort for the horse. So again, if you only plan to use a bareback pad occasionally this is a great choice. If you do a lot of bareback riding with a pad, you may want to look at better options.
